Plan the patch
before you pull a single cable.

BayPatcher is a 3D audio patchbay simulator for studio and live sound engineers. Build the room, route connector-aware XLR / TRS signal, run +48V phantom checks, and inspect the whole signal path — all before touching real hardware.

// What it does

Model the room,
then inspect every path

BayPatcher models real-world routing — two patchbays, 16 microphone cards, and 30 hot-swappable rack slots — so the signal path is correct on screen before it’s correct in the room.

Build the room

Two patchbays, 16 mic cards, and 30 hot-swap rack slots. Lay out your actual rig, gear by gear.

Connector-aware routing

XLR/TRS intelligence catches incompatible patches before you ever make them.

Phantom power safety

Flags condensers and blocks routing that can’t deliver sufficient +48V.

3D + 2D visualization

Inspect the full path in 3D, then read it back on a clean, read-only 2D overview.

Real hardware models

39 preamps, compressors, and interfaces from SSL, Warm Audio, Audient, and more.

Document everything

Export wiring PDFs, printable labels, and session notes. Save portable .bpatch files.

  1. 01

    Build

Drop in patchbays, mic cards, and rack gear to model your real room.

  2. 02

    Patch

Wire sources to destinations with connector- and phantom-aware cabling.

  3. 03

    Visualize

Trace the whole signal path in 3D, or read it back on the 2D overview.

  4. 04

    Document

Export wiring sheets and labels, then save the session as a .bpatch file.

// Questions

Good to know

BayPatcher is built by Johnny Zimmer and is currently in private development. Have a question that isn’t here? Email us.

What exactly is BayPatcher?

A 3D audio patchbay simulator. You model your studio or live rig — patchbays, mic cards, and rack gear — then route, verify, and document the signal path before touching real hardware.

Is it a plugin or a browser app?

Neither — it’s a desktop application for macOS and Windows, built with a real 3D engine. There’s nothing to load into a DAW.

Can I try it now?

It’s in private development with a beta waitlist. Join the waitlist and we’ll email you when a build is ready to test.

How much will it cost?

Pricing hasn’t been announced yet. Waitlist members will be the first to hear when it is.

Who is it for?

Studio and live sound engineers who design signal paths and want to plan complex routing — connectors, phantom power, and all — before patching for real.
